Environmental Commitments

We made great effort to source recycled material and manufacture our products locally. Our partner is a plastics processing facility right here in Slovenia (EU) compliant with EU environmental standards. As a material Polypropylene is a durable polymer with high recycling capacity.  We view plastic products sustainable only when intended for repetitive, long lasting use. Many first gen Musguards from our 2013 Kickstarter campaign are still in use to this day.

Reusability and recyclability

We recently switched to production from recycled post-industrial Polypropylene sheets to reduce our environmental impact as much as we can. As a material Polypropylene is a durable polymer with high recycling capacity. When disposed of appropriately (recycle bin!) it will quickly find its way back to the production chain. Packaging - we simply don't use any. You get a pair of Musguards in an envelope with some instructions and a Thank You note on recycled paper.

Sustainable materials

We keep material use to a minimum - all Musguards are only 0.8 mm (0.03") thick. The recycled Polypropylene sheets we use are produced and delivered from France. This means the supply chain is short and does not involve delivery by air or sea. The production method is energetically undemanding. Musguards are die-cut from Polypropylene sheets with a hydraulic press rather then using injection molding or similar energy-intensive processes.

We produce our products locally. Our manufacturer is a plastics processing facility in Slovenia (EU) compliant with all EU environmental standards. We established and maintain a great relationship with them for years now.

Sustainable Distribution

We work with fulfilment centres to ship our products to customers across the globe. This means a larger amount of products is shipped from us to a warehouse and from there orders are subject to optimised ground delivery. We intend to apply this same method for our campaign fulfilment too.
